OF COMMUNICATION
Level
1
This is generally aimed at the pre-verbal students. Many
of the activities are sensory-based and encourage early
communication skills, such as developing choice making,
intentionality, turn taking and joint focus of attention.
Activities in the Emerging communication level focus on
repetitive interactive play skills along with expoloratory
play.
Level 2

This is aimed at the student who has begun to communicate
either verbally, with signing or with assisted communication.
The games are ideally suited to classroom activities for
use alongside the topic of the term, and encourage the development
of basic social skills as well as encouraging increased
use of a variety of language structures, such as prepositional
phrases and adjectival phrases. Children at the Developing
Communications level are involved in investigative play,
interactive and pretend play.
