CREATORS
OF FLIC:
Heather Bovingdon
B.A, M.R.C.S.L.T
Heather qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist at the University
of Reading in 1981. She has spent almost all of her career in the field
of Special Education. She currently works at a Special School in Kent
and provides an Outreach Advisory Service to Mainstream schools within
the area. Heather strongly believes that all children can be helped to
communicate more effectively. Through working closely with Teachers and
Parents, Heather experimented with a variety of methods in an endeavour
to find the most effective method of encouraging the development of functional
communication within the curriculum. The result is FLIC.
Sarah Wheeler HND Graphic Design & Illustration
After graduating from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone
with an HND in Graphic Design and Illustration, Sarah wanted a break from
her lifelong quest to become an artist. Whilst looking for a new challenge
Sarah discovered the field of Speech and Language Therapy. Sarah not only
embarked on an interesting journey of discovery but she found the inspiration
she needed to get her artistic career back on track through the development
of specialist resources and ultimately the FLIC project.
