ABOUT FLIC

FLIC resources are designed to help Teachers with children who experience difficulties in developing communication skills, for whatever reason, to get the most out of their time in school.
The FLIC butterfly represents the transformation of a child's communication development from the first intentional attempt through to the use of grammar and social skills

FLIC provides a full set of Resources at 3 levels of communication development. The most popular topics used in schools are covered and offer Schools a simple to prepare, easy to use, tried and trusted resource. The material is already constructed to form a fully structured programme, so there are little or no changes required. The Teacher is therefore more able to focus precious time on individual and group objectives, application, and evaluation.

The FLIC Resources are available on standard CDROM in order to make them most accessible and easy to use, and ecologically friendly. In this way, forms, games, planning sheets etc, may be printed under your control from any home or School PC with a CD drive. The CDROMs are available by direct order alone and not available through any other outlets.

They have successfully been used with children who have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia, Hearing Impairment, Learning Disabilities. These children can follow the FLIC programme structure as a stand alone or along side the main class teaching. They are designed to be suitable for use with small groups of children in mainstream or special schools or Nurseries, and the different levels accomodate different abilities and rates of progress.
